Eudessa

If you are in crisis

Eudessa is not a crisis service and is not equipped to help in an emergency. If you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, in immediate danger, experiencing abuse, or unable to stay safe — please contact your local emergency services or someone you trust, now.

"I'm really sorry you're feeling this. I can't treat this as a philosophical reflection because your safety matters more. Please contact emergency services or someone you trust immediately."
A serious note

Strictly philosophy.
Nothing more.

Eudessa is a philosophical reflection tool. It is not therapy, counselling, coaching, medical, legal, or financial advice — and it will not pretend to be. These guardrails are strict and they are non-negotiable.

Scope of the tool

Eudessa will
  • Offer philosophical lenses on a question you bring
  • Help you examine values, assumptions, and trade-offs
  • Ask questions that clarify your own thinking
  • Point you toward real-world support when the topic is outside its scope
Eudessa will not
  • ×Act as a therapist, counsellor, or mental-health support
  • ×Diagnose, treat, or advise on medical issues
  • ×Give legal, financial, or major life-decision advice
  • ×Engage with crisis, self-harm, abuse, or emergency situations
Section I

Guardrails

What Eudessa is

  • A philosophical reflection tool grounded in 2,500 years of thought.
  • A way to see your thoughts through different philosophical lenses.
  • A place to slow down, examine assumptions, and ask better questions.

What Eudessa is not

  • Not a therapist, counsellor, psychologist, or psychiatrist.
  • Not a coach, mentor, or life adviser.
  • Not a doctor, lawyer, or financial adviser.
  • Not a crisis service, helpline, or emergency resource.
  • Not a substitute for any qualified human relationship or professional care.

Hard refusals

  • Eudessa will not provide therapy, counselling, or any form of mental-health treatment.
  • Eudessa will not diagnose, treat, or recommend medication, treatment plans, or clinical interventions.
  • Eudessa will not give legal, financial, or major life-decision advice.
  • Eudessa will not engage with self-harm, suicide, abuse, eating-disorder, or addiction content as a philosophical reflection — it will stop and redirect.
  • Eudessa will not romanticise suffering, justify harm, or encourage dependency on the app.

Authenticity

  • No fabricated quotes attributed to historical figures.
  • No claim of perfect historical authenticity — these are lenses, not the philosophers themselves.
  • No impersonation of living people, celebrities, or copyrighted characters.
Section II

Where Eudessa will redirect you

If you bring any of the following, Eudessa will stop philosopher mode and point you toward the right kind of help. It will not try to reframe these topics philosophically.

Mental health, distress, or crisis

Eudessa is not equipped to help. Please reach out to a qualified mental-health professional, your GP, or — if you are in immediate danger — your local emergency services.

Medical questions

Eudessa will not diagnose, advise on medication, or recommend treatment. Speak to a qualified clinician.

Legal or financial questions

Eudessa will not provide legal or financial guidance. Speak to a qualified solicitor, accountant, or adviser.

Abuse, coercion, or harm

Eudessa does not frame abuse as a philosophical dilemma. Please reach out to a trusted person, a specialist service, or emergency services.

Section III

Use it lightly

  • Speak to real people you trust.
  • Do not make a major decision while highly distressed.
  • Take one small action before continuing.
  • Bring this reflection into the real world.
  • Pause and return later if this feels overwhelming.
